Concert Bands
The McEachern Band Program has 4 core performance ensembles; Concert Band, Symphonic Band II, Symphonic Band I, and the Wind Ensemble. Students are placed into the ensembles as a result of auditions that take place in mid January. Each ensemble performs at our Winter and Spring Concert as well as the District Festival (LGPE) in March.
The Concert Program at McEachern has a history of superior ratings at the district level. In 2006 the Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the Music For All Festival in Indianapolis. In 2007 the Wind Ensemble were honored with the chance to perform at both the University of Georgia JanFest and GMEA State Convention.
Some of the most outstanding musicians in the country have been guest conductors, clinicians, and performers for the McEachern Band Program. Among our distinguished guests have been composers Sam Hazo and Mark Camphouse, conductors Richard Clary, Tom Fraschillo, and Georgia's own John Lynch, Robert Ambrose, and Andrea Strauss.
